We we are – Hungarian Jews after the Holocaust, The Third Generation

The idea for the documentary film entitled ‘Who we are – Hungarian Jews after the Holocaust – The Third Generation’ came in 2014 while working with the Center for Jewish History in New York on an event dedicated to presenting Hungarian Jewry. The main goal was to show the audience real stories of real people, who might have much in common, but who nonetheless have different motivations for practicing their Jewish identities and for taking an active part in community life. The family micro-histories presented of people of various ages and backgrounds we get a glimpse of the past, present and future of the Jews of Budapest. Since 2014 it screened in Venice, Prague and New York again in 2016 thanks to the Paideia – The European Institute for Jewish Studies in Sweden, The Center for Jewish History and Hungarian Culture Center in New York.
